Here is The Update for July 29:
Samsora travels to Sin City for EVO 2019
The stakes are always a little higher in Las Vegas, and EVO 2019 is no exception.
Boasting over 9,000 total registrants across a variety of fighting games, EVO stands out among the plethora of annual events as the preeminent tournament for the fighting games community.
Ezra "Samsora" Morris is recently coming off of a victory at Defend The North 2019, a B-tier event in NYC, and is ready to prove that his practice at home will pay off at the big time major.
Marking its debut at EVO is Smash: Ultimate, which boasts over 3,500 entrants for the singles bracket. The whopping number of competitors marks it as the largest tournament in Smash history across all titles in the series.
The event is set to begin Aug. 2 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

SPL Phase 2 begins this week
After a short offseason, eUnited SMITE will be back in action beginning Aug. 8.
A 6-3 record in Phase 1 was good enough for the fourth seed at the Mid-Season Invitational. At the event on July 11, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Splyce in the quarterfinals sent the team home early.
In Phase 2, the squad will be looking to remain toward the top of the table during the 12-week long season that stretches all the way until late October.
eUnited’s opening match of Phase 2 against SK Gaming is set for Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. Eastern.
